What is Artificial Intelligence?

Let everybody knows

Artificial Intelligence – Where it plays?

AI powers many programs and services that help us do everyday things such as connecting with friends, using an email program, or using a ride-share service.

If you have reservations about the use of artificial intelligence, it may be comforting to know that most of us have been using AI daily for many years. Now we are going to see briefly AI.

Let’s hash it out.

What is Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans and mimic their actions. The term may also be applied to any machine that exhibits traits associated with a human mind such as learning and problem-solving.

Applications of Artificial Intelligence:

Artificial Intelligence has various applications in today’s society. It is becoming essential for today’s time because it can solve complex problems in an efficient way in multiple industries, such as Healthcare, entertainment, finance, education, etc.

AI in Healthcare: Healthcare Industries are applying AI to make a better and faster diagnosis than humans. AI can help doctors with diagnoses and can inform when patients are worsening so that medical help can reach the patient before hospitalization.

AI in Finance: AI and finance industries are the best matches for each other. The finance industry is implementing automation, chatbot, adaptive intelligence, algorithm trading, and machine learning into financial processes.

AI in Social Media: Social Media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat contain billions of user profiles, which need to be stored and managed in a very efficient way.AI can analyze lots of data to identify the latest trends, hashtags, and requirements of different users.

AI in Robotics: Humanoid Robots are the best examples for AI in robotics, recently the intelligent Humanoid robot named Erica and Sophia has been developed which can talk and behave like humans.

AI in Cybersecurity: The cybersecurity arena faces significant challenges in the form of large-scale hacking attacks of different types that harm organizations of all kinds and create billions of dollars in business damage. Artificial intelligence and Natural Language Processing (NLP) have begun to be used by security companies – for example, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solutions.

How Does AI Work?

A common AI application that we see today is the automatic switching of appliances at home.

When you enter a dark room, the sensors in the room detect your presence and turn on the lights. This is an example of non-memory machines. Some of the more advanced AI programs are even able to predict your usage pattern and turn on appliances before you explicitly give instructions.

Some AI programs can identify your voice and perform an action accordingly. If you say, “turn on the TV”, the sound sensors on the TV detect your voice and turn it on.

Boon of artificial intelligence :

  • Reduction in human error
  • Available 24×7
  • Helps in repetitive work
  • Digital assistance
  • Faster decision
  • Rational decision maker
  • Medical applications
  • Improve security
  • Efficient communication

Bane of Artificial Intelligence :

  • Expensive.
  • Requires deep technical expertise.
  • The limited supply of qualified workers to build AI tools.
  • Only knows what it’s been shown.
  • Lack of ability to generalize from one task to another.

“I visualise a time when we will be to robots what dogs are to humans, and I’m rooting for the machines.” —Claude Shannon

CONCLUSION

AI is at the center of a new enterprise to build computational models of intelligence. The main assumption is that intelligence (human or otherwise) can be represented in terms of symbol structures and symbolic operations which can be programmed in a digital computer.

Conventional digital computers may be capable of running such programs, or we may need to develop new machines that can support the complexity of human thought.

“The key to artificial intelligence has always been the representation.” —Jeff Hawkins
